CD cover

Slater's Royal National Commercial Directory of Nottinghamshire, 1857.

The book used for scanning is fragile with a number of skew printed pages; the title page and pages 1 & 2 have been torn out and there are also tears on a number of other pages. The result is minor textual loss but all information is readable. Unusually for a directory of this age the county map has survived, though it too was torn along its folds and has been repaired.

Despite these problems the directory is complete and includes "every city, town and principal village" in the county. There are also lists of UK Bankers and 22 pages of advertisements.
Some of the scanned pages appear not to be straight. This is a feature of the original book rather than the scanning process.

Price £7.50 (GBP 7.50) plus £1.00 (GBP 1) postage & packing (first class within the UK and by air mail to customers outside the UK).
