CD cover

Gore's Directory of Liverpool for 1914.

The full original directory contains the following sections: Preface & Contents; List of Streets & Named Buildings; Street Directory; Alphabetical (Name) Directory; Trades & Professions Directory; Annals of Liverpool; Docks & Harbour Board Directory; Official Directory; Advertisements.

The size of this directory (more than 2500 scanned images) means that it has been necessary for us to publish it in three parts over three double CDs. With many directories of this nature the maps published with the original are missing. However, in the copy which we obtained the Map of Greater Liverpool and Plan of Birkenhead & Wallasey survive. The Maps, Preface and Contents are included on each CD.

Some of the scanned pages appear not to be straight and/or printed very close to the edge. This is a feature of the original book rather than the scanning process.

The Part 1 set of two CDs contains the Street Directory. As we were scanning the directory we found that pp 377/378 were missing. The last entry on p 376 is 74 Kilburn Street, Bootle and the first entry on p 379 is 54 King Street, Egremont.

The Part 2 set of two CDs contains the Alphabetical Directory.

The Part 3 set of two CDs contains: the Trades & Professions Directory; the List of Streets & Named Buildings; Annals of Liverpool; Docks & Harbour Board Directory; Official Directory and Advertisements.

The price of each separate CD is £12.00 (GBP 12.00) plus £1.00 (GBP 1) postage & packing (first class within the UK and by air mail to customers outside the UK). All three CDs may be purchased for £30.00 (GBP 30.00) plus £1.00 (GBP 1) postage & packing - a saving of £8 (GBP 8.00).
