CD cover

May's Street Plan of Sunderland, Roker & Seaburn, ca 1935.

The original paper copy of this map, published by G W May was printed at a scale of 4 inches to the mile. It is the type of map which has a "tape measure" to locate streets rather than a grid system. Coverage is from Seaburn Sands in the north to Sunderland Cemetery in the south and from the Isolation Hospital, just west of the county borough boundary in the west to the coast in the east. The original map carries no date so dating has been estimated from advertisements which mention prizes won in 1934. The map is scanned onto the CD as 4 overlapping tiles. In addition, there is a description of the town; a street index and 13 local advertisements.

Price £3.50 (GBP 3.50) plus £1.00 (GBP 1) postage & packing (first class within the UK and by air mail to customers outside the UK).
