The Authentic Map Directory of London & Suburbs ca 1924.

We originally dated the Directory to 1924 as an advertisement for Kitcat the Bookbinder (reproduced on the advertisements page) states that the company had been established 125 years (the company was formed in 1799). We were then informed by a (satisfied) customer that it may be slightly later, with the comment: "The Metropolitan Railway branch from Moor Park to Watford is shown. This opened on 2nd November 1925. However, it shouldn't be after May 1926 - the North Greenwich branch of the LNER is shown as open; this closed during the General strike.".

Price £12.00 (GBP 12.00) plus £1.00 (GBP 1) postage & packing (first class within the UK and by air mail to customers outside the UK).

The CD contains: a two page key to the main map pages; 129 pages of detailed, coloured, street maps covering London & Suburbs (scanned at 150 dpi from an original scale of 4.5 inches to the mile); a 3 page larger scale plan of The City of London; Plans of The Temple, Gray's Inn and Lincoln's Inn; a single page Underground Railway Map; a two page Railway Map of London & Environs; a two page Bus & Tram Route Map of London & Environs; a two page map showing Parliamentary Divisions; a two page map showing Administrative Areas; a two page map showing Metropolitan Police Divisions & Courts; a two page map showing County Court Divisions; a two page map showing Petty Sessional Divisions; a two page map showing London Postal Districts & Sub-districts; a two page map showing Telephone Exchanges of London & Suburbs; a thirty-eight page General Trade Section/Classified Trade Index; a fifty-four page Index to the Streets etc covered; 23 contemporary advertisements.
The original directory had Localised Trade Sections adjacent to each map page. For reasons of space these have not been reproduced. All entries are duplicated in the General Trade Section so all the information is on the CD. There were minor marks on some pages when we obtained the directory but this does not affect the map clarity. Area covered is from Barnet, Enfield & Waltham Cross in the north to Esher, Carshalton & Orpington in the south and from Bushey & Southall in the west to Chigwell, Erith & Bexley in the east.
