Samuel died 7 May 1882, Glossop, DBY, bur: St Mary's Ind, Charlesworth, DBY. Possibly had an earlier daughter named Sarah. There is a civil death registration at Glossop for a Sarah Hadfield, aged 7 months, of Holehouse on 27th January 1838. It was registered by her grandmother, Winifred Hadfield. Is it possible that the grandmother's surname was recorded by mistake? Jane: 1881 census shows her aged 67 living at 6 Unity Street, Glossop Dale. IGI has 3 entries for marriage of Jane Ridg(e)way to Samuel Hadfield at Chapel en le Frith, two dated 12 August 1832 and one dated 30 August 1832. As Robert was born before the Mottram marriage this might be the same couple - but if so why the Mottram marriage?
